Heinrich Friedrich Ludwig (aka Luis) & Carl Friedrich Otto (aka Carlos Otto) Fischer

My German great grandfather Carl Friedrich Otto Fischer had a half brother called Heinrich Friedrich  Ludwig, a.k.a. Luis Fischer. Carl Otto was the son of Friedrich Wilhelm Fischer and Louise Klinke, while Luis Fischer had the same father but his mother´s name was Friedericke Turck.
Luis Fischer Turck was the first German Consul in Cali, Colombia, named in 1907 directly by the Kaiser Friedrich Wilhelm II of Germany. Luis Fischer had been part of the German military (with the 1st company of the Jaeger Bataillon No. 11) where he was conferred 3 medals for his excellent conduct. He also fought as part of the Prussian Guard during the 1866 war against the Austrians and received a bronze medal directly from Kaiser Wilhelm I, the Great King of Prussia.

Luis Fischer traveled to Medellin, Palmira, Cali and Pasto, Colombia around 1870-74 having been sent by various commercial firms such as Kissing & Mullmann. He  settled for good in Cali for in 1877 but neither of the two brothers ever gave up their German citizenship. In 1898 Luis established the trading house "Luis Fischer & Cia." with his half brother, my Great Grandfather Carl F. Otto.
Prove of that is found at the 1st Notary of Cali. (Escritura No. 55) On May 12, 1900 The two brothers established the first commercial company of the XX Century in Buenaventura. (A third brother Gustav Hermann Fischer Turck stayed in Germany)
Luis was also founder of Fischer & Burckhart another trading house he established with a German called Albert Burckhart that sold all kinds of imported goods from tools to wine to pianos. Luis worked closely for the development and progress of the city of Cali taking part in important projects such as navigation through the Cauca River, the construction of the Buenaventura highway, electrical plants, etc. He was married four times, the last one being a Viennese woman, Ida Clara von Becker with whom he started the Fischer family branch in Cali

Carl F. Otto Fischer was one of the first coffee exporters. When his brother went back to Europe, Carl F. Otto stayed in charge of the family business. Some kind of problem must have happened upon his brother´s return, possibly a financial problem, who knows, but the family business Fischer & Cia. was dissolved upon Luis´ return from his European trip.

Karl F. Otto married a distinguished Colombian woman from Popayán, Ms. Clelia Cárdenas Mosquera, the grandchild of General Tomás Cipriano Mosquera, 4 times president of Colombia. Later, Karl F. Otto moved to the capital, Bogotá. Karl F. Otto and Clelia he had two sons, Edgar Fischer and Guillermo Fischer (this last one was my grandfather).

This is pretty much all the information I have regarding my great grandfather Karl F. Otto. Most of his descendants live in Bogotá while most of Luis Fischer´s descendants live in Cali.
